First day of Practice - Field Update

Hello Toros!

Welcome to the first day of our 2025 season. We will all be practicing at Del Norte High School. It is a Toro Takeover and we will be all around the facility with 250 of our student athletes. Del Norte is a big campus so for those that haven't been before, I want to lay out some very important details.

Also, we are asking for your flexibility and patience - we were under the impression when we made the field reservation in May that it included all 3 turf practice fields. Between the time of our initial reservation and now, it changed to only one of the practice fields (West) and the other two are booked. We are actively looking to permit another location as soon as possible.

Details and maps:

• The parking lot is massive, head towards the stadium entrance.

• The restrooms are right at the entrance

  • PLEASE encourage your athletes to use the restroom first (or ideally at home) it is a long walk from the practice fields to the restrooms.

• There are two accessible entrances to the fields, one immediately after the restrooms (a large ramp that takes you to the track). Another accessible entrance is where our red arrows end on the map below, there is another ramp to get to the practice field.

• We will not have a lot of room for spectators - if you can drop off your athletes, that would be great.

  
  

Cheer Athletes

• You will be meeting on the concrete behind and around the stadium - it should be visible from the entrance

Football Players

• There are two paths to the practice fields, the one in red below is encouraged, but your athlete can also walk down the steps of the stadium and access the field that way, either way will get you to Practice Field West.

  • PRO TIP: If your athletes can wear slides, crocs, or tennis shoes and carry their cleats - it will save a lot of wear on the studs since there will be a lot of walking

  • Remind them that this is part of conditioning

• You will be wearing your Toro spirit wear (T-shirt and Shorts) - your helmet with a tethered mouth guard, and bringing lots of water.
