Off-Season Training
Get Ahead This Off-Season

Excited for the upcoming cheer season and ready to level up? The off-season is an ideal time for cheer athletes to build strength, flexibility, confidence, and technique before summer practices begin. Consistent training outside of the regular season helps athletes enter the year prepared, confident, and physically ready.

Off-season training is optional but strongly encouraged for cheerleaders of all levels. Skill progression, injury prevention, and confidence are built through repetition, proper technique, and qualified instruction.

Cheer & Tumbling Gyms
Local cheer and tumbling gyms provide instruction in:

  • Tumbling fundamentals and progression

  • Jumps, flexibility, and motion technique

  • Stunt foundations and body control

  • Confidence, performance quality, and endurance

  • Athletes benefit from structured environments with certified coaches and proper matting.

Strength, Flexibility & Athletic Performance Training
Programs focused on youth athletic performance help cheerleaders improve:

  • Core strength and body awareness

  • Balance, coordination, and agility

  • Injury prevention and safe movement patterns

  • Many of our cheer athletes also cross-train in gymnastics, dance, or general athletic conditioning programs.

Cross-Training Opportunities
Cross-training supports well-rounded athletes and reduces burnout. Recommended options may include:

  • Gymnastics

  • Acro

  • Dance (jazz, hip hop, pom)

  • Youth athletic conditioning or speed & agility programs

  • These activities translate directly to improved cheer performance and confidence.

Important Notes for Families
Off-season training is optional but highly encouraged. All outside programs are independent of Del Rancho Pop Warner. Families may choose programs that best fit their athlete’s age, level, and schedule. Participation in off-season training does not guarantee specific roles ie) designated flyer(s).
